Studio

The teaching studio is located in a comfortable self-contained Annexe above a triple garage in Old Boars Hill. It is fully equipped for all our lesson needs. The kit that I teach on is a Spaun Custom Series set up with Zildjian cymbals, there is a second kit  - Sonor with Zildian/Dream cymbals here for beginner/intermediate/younger students too. All I ask is that the equipment is given the care and respect it deserves. Having two kits allows students and I to play simultaneously or in a call and response fashion, and allows me to demonstrate without swapping onto the same kit. Backing tracks/songs we are learning are played out loud through a decent amplifier and speakers, or through isolation headphones if the student prefers.

I ask all students and anyone sitting in on the lesson to please protect their ears with either the provided ear defenders, or earplugs - there are disposable earplugs available here free of charge for students/those sitting in, but if you prefer - do feel free to bring your own.

There is an open door policy for any Parents or Guardians that wish to sit in, and wifi is available - but please if you can help it, don't bring your whole family unless you have to... the sofa is not huge! If you do bring phones/tablets to keep those sitting in busy - please could I ask that you also bring in-ear headphones so that these devices can stay silent during lesson and ear defender headphones can be worn over the top. Thank you.
